This sample is part of the icefield-library. I used a pair of soundman okm2 mics as contact microphones which i fixed to the surface of a frozen lake, then recorded the sounds made by throwing or skimming several stones and pebbles across the ice. Wonderful effects can also be achieved by filtering or timestretching the files.

This is a funny recording of an ice-cream van outside my house. He parked in the middle of the road and you can hear other drivers beeping. He finally turns off the music and drives away.

Was going for something totally different but would work great for someone brushing snow off there jacket.

A night walk in the snow.

A recording of me walking through the snow which was fairly soft fluffy snow. There are also some places in the recording where i step on some brittle ice which crunches cracks louder.

A storm, first you can hear hail transitioning to just rain, some thunder in the background. You can listen the water hitting hard ground. Concrete.

Recorded this on my tascam dr60d using my rode ntg2 shotgun mic. Just me walking through some snow we got yesterday.

Ambience of a night in december. It snowed earlier in the day, with freezing rain after. In this you can hear icy trees crackle as they sway in the wind. A block away, motorists are passing by. Some people yell out. A one-note wind chime is dinging, sometimes another wind chime sounds. Some ice falls, and various other little things happen. . . A recording made on the ice of a small local lake. Heavy rumble of the wind interspersed with sounds of people skating, skiing and chattering away merrily. A barking dog appears at one point. Recorded with a zoom h1.

Extended recording of myself stomping around in iced-over snow after a storm. Featured sounds are footprints breaking through ice and crunching in the snow underneath, icicles being scraped across the icy snow surface, and bits of ice being thrown across the ice-covered snow surface and skittering away.

I was out on the marsh edge when i could hear a strange noise in the dark. It turned out to be ice breaking up in the tidal flow. A great test for the new pair of em172 mics. In the parabolic, olympus ls-5 recorder.

Randomly recorded my friend sneezing over skype (lol). Turned it into an ambient drone. Have fun with it!.

Walking on a tarmack road on a cold winter night with heavy clothes. Recorded in stereo 24 bit 96 khz with the internal mics on a sony m10 with windjammer. Please use this sound for whatever you want, completely free, no restrictions. Although i really appreciate a comment if you use my sound for something interesting. Always fun to hear where my recordings end up :).

My recording of an ice cream truck in nyc.

Very clean recording of an ice cream truck outside, playing joplin's "the entertainer". I started and stopped and awkward times since we were in between takes, but if you have sound skills, its easily loopable. While on set in downtown la, an ice cream truck visited our crew. The rest is history. .

Fast moving stream down from one of the waterfalls at silver falls state park in oregon. Water is flowing over rocks. Recorded, sorry to say, on my canon t3i mounted on tripod about 3 feet from the water so there is very little stereo separation. Runs at about -10db. Enjoy, i plan to upload more from my trip. Free to use, but if used commercially it would be nice if you can add "marcus pun" to the credits, and i hope you do that with any sound you use from freesounds. ;o).
